RESEARCH & IDEAS

My research is interdisciplinary and systems-oriented. I investigate how information, cognition, intelligence, organization, adaptation and decision-making interact across biological, artificial, technological, economic and social systems.

Rather than treating disciplines as isolated domains, I explore connections between them where those connections can generate useful hypotheses, models or research questions

Research Themes

1. Artificial Intelligence & Cognitive Systems

Research into intelligent systems, cognitive architectures, decision-support systems, machine intelligence and
the relationship between tool-based intelligence and agentic intelligence.

2. Consciousness & Consciousness Engineering

Exploration of consciousness, awareness, cognition and intelligent organization through
conceptual, computational and systems perspectives.

3. Complex Adaptive Systems

Study of feedback, adaptation, organization, emergence, coordination and decision-making in complex systems.

4. Computational Science

Application of programming, computational modelling, simulation and data-driven methods to interdisciplinary scientific problems.

5. Computational Biology & Biotechnology

Research involving biological systems, protein design, computational biology and AI-assisted scientific discovery.

6. Sustainability & Environmental Systems

Research examining technology, sustainability, resource systems, societal resilience and long-term development.

7. AI Governance & Public Policy

Investigation of governance challenges associated with artificial intelligence, technological power, institutional decision-making, accountability and responsible innovation.

8. Economics, Finance & Decision Systems

Research connecting economic behaviour, risk, information, decision-making, organizational systems and measurable value creation.

9. Materials, Energy & Emerging Technologies

Exploration of interdisciplinary concepts involving advanced materials, energy systems and emerging technological architectures.

RESEARCH APPROACH

My approach combines:

•Conceptual Analysis
• Systems Thinking
• Mathematical Reasoning

• Computational Experimentation
• Comparative Analysis
• Interdisciplinary Synthesis

Conceptual hypotheses are treated as research propositions rather than established scientific facts unless supported by appropriate evidence.

* Sustainability and systems research
* Layered physical-system frameworks
* Interdisciplinary science

RESEARCH PHILOSOPHY

I believe meaningful scientific progress often occurs at the boundaries between disciplines.
The objective is not to replace established science with speculation, but to formulate questions, frameworks and models that can be examined, challenged, computationally tested and progressively refined.
